The experts in China have noticed that the people with blood group A has more chances to get affected by corona virus.

After examining the blood pattern of more than 2100 infected patients with COVID-19 from different hospitals of China, the researchers found that the patients whose blood group is A had obviously higher rate of infection with COVID-19 and developed corona virus symptoms. Whereas those with O blood group has a lower rate of infection than other blood groups. Researchers experienced that people with O blood groups have more mild symptoms known as Sars-CoV-2.

Wang Xinghuan, with the Centre for Evidence-Based and Translational Medicine at Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, stated:

“People of blood group A might need particularly strengthened personal protection to reduce the chance of infection”

“Sars-CoV-2-infected patients with blood group A might need to receive more vigilant surveillance and aggressive treatment.”

“Blood group O had a significantly lower risk for the infectious disease compared with non-O blood groups”

The research shows that 31% of people have an A-type blood group, 24% are type B, 34% are type O, and 9% are type AB in the Wuhan city of China. But those who are affected by the virus are distributed as 38% A type, 26% type B, 25% type O, and 10% type AB.

According to the paper Published by Medrxiv.org

On average out of 206 died people with corona virus, only 52 of them had blood group O while 85 of them had blood group A. This is the greatest number yet observed by researchers.
